Custom Outdoor Kitchen With Pergola

One of the important elements of outdoor design is the finishing products that you use, like tumbled marble or a beautiful glass. The other thing is scale. What we've done over here with our outdoor living area is we've built an area that's roughly 20' x 20' that you can entertain and cook and has a wonderful view, yet it doesn't take up a lot of space. It still leaves plenty of space for seating, for kids to run, etc. The other thing is that the kinds of materials that we used, and the color, has to match the current home so it looks like it's always been part of your house. This is the existing home.

Waterfront Backyard Makeover

Here we are on location again in South Florida. Some times you can't just build a cabana or a pergola or a tiki hut to do the job, you actually have to extend off of the house. This is a home extension where we're going to be building a patio deck similar to this one here on the other side. What we're doing is giving an extra roughly 200 square feet so we can do our outdoor kitchen area, a bar area and an entertainment area. You can see how we're tying in here with the form work to do a poured concrete top, something very solid. As you can see we're on the water in South Florida and one of the things you want to do is build something very sturdy. Much more to come where we're going to be removing this step area here, putting in a bar and barbecue area. Just an all around great time for everybody. This will also all be redone in terms of pool finish, the wall, the pavers, even doing some work on the columns to modernize it and put lighting in and really give it that outdoor feel where it's very elegant and relaxing at the same time.

Pergolas - Architectural Details

Well here we are on location again in South Florida looking at some more pergolas. You can see a previous pergola that we built. They were so impressed with our past pergola that we did another one. This one's a lot larger so (about 30' by 15' to give you some scale) offers quite a bit of shade. But also the architectural items that we've included, built out bases I think just makes it look a lot richer, larger columns, and then of course nice sized pre-stained wood. This is what we look to do in pergolas to give you shade, strength, a lot of function and yet really nice architectural details that make all the difference. Enjoy!

Balcony Extension for Outdoor Kitchen Living Space

Here we are on location again in South Florida another Outdoor Living project. We're completing an extension of an overhang, and how we're doing that is we're connecting to the existing area. We've extended this area, instead of doing a cabana or pergola or something, provided matching tongue and groove roof. The guys are up here right now doing some tile work. The important thing about this is to make it look like it's always been part of the original home layout. One of the things you can see here on the front is that we've matched that side with this one. We're going to be putting in a new richer looking guard rails and making it look great.

Outdoor Living Space with Bar, Fireplace and TV

Here we are back on location with another outdoor cabana that's being built. We have all the stucco finishing work done, barrel tile roof as you can see, tongue and groove underneath. All that's left is to do the bar area which we're working on now with an exhaust vent that goes out, lots of nice comfortable living space to here and then we'll have a fireplace with a television.
